What are Optimize profiles?
Optimize profiles are a collection of optimization settings that are applied to files in a single compression run. The settings affect the level of compression and quality of the processed file. Switching between profiles allows you to perform common tasks and workflows that require different output files.
NXPowerLite comes with 3 built-in Optimize Profiles (Balanced, Strong & Basic) that can be used for the most common scenarios.
However, it is possible to create custom Optimize profiles which directly address your needs. For example, you may want to set up a custom profile that resizes JPEGs for a target 1080p display size. Then you can easily switch to that profile when working with images that are required to be compressed in that way.
For more details on each built-in Optimize Profile and all the settings, please read How do 'Optimize profile' (optimization) settings affect my files?
How to create a custom Optimize Profile
The following steps show you how to create an Optimize profile that resizes JPEGs for a target resolution of 1080p.
- Select New optimize profile... from the Optimize profile drop-down.
- Select all the settings for each file type, give the profile a name and save the profile.
- Now you will see that profile in the Optimize profile drop-down list on the main dialog.
Managing Optimize Profiles

Import and Export Optimization Profiles
Custom optimization settings profiles can be exported from an NXPowerLite Desktop installation and imported to other installations of NXPowerLite Desktop on different machine(s). This is not supported directly in the application but can be achieved by following the steps below.
See NXPowerLite Desktop optimization profiles for download for a selection of frequently used profiles.

Before importing and exporting make sure:
1. NXPowerLite is not running on either source or destination machine
2. The source and destination machine have the same major version of NXPowerLite Desktop
