When NXPowerLite Server has a problem you will see an error dialog when you try to start the Dashboard or immediately after starting a run. Most errors occur because of corrupted files or missing/corrupted registry entries.
Note: to minimise the likelihood of corrupt files caused by applications that are actively scanning files (e.g. security or anti-virus software), please read Configure anti-virus software or active scanning applications that conflict with NXPowerLite Server

Find and fix the errors by following the instructions below, otherwise please share your details and get help by reading Reporting a problem with NXPowerLite Server.
Find the cause of the error.
Check the NXPowerLite Server logs to see what caused the problem. These are located here:
%programdata%\Neuxpower\NXPowerLite for File Servers v10\Logs
Open the txt file with the highest number in its filename. Near the bottom of that file, you will see the error. For example, the following error shows that the configuration file AntiThrashing.txt is either corrupt or missing:
[2024-Aug-16 13:46:24.839592], 0x00009650, nxp_fs , error , PersistAntiThrashing , EventLog , An error occurred parsing AntiThrashing.txt. Error description: Failed to load AntiThrashing.txt. System error: Internal error.
If there is no information about the error in the log files, consult the Windows Application log for more details.

Unexpected exception
This happens upon startup or immediately after hitting the 'Optimize' button in the Dashboard. It usually occurs because a configuration file has become corrupted. Configuration files are stored here:
%programdata%\Neuxpower\NXPowerLite for File Servers v10
Unexpected, Fatal and Bad Config errors
These errors usually happen when something goes wrong during a run. Another program has likely opened a file that NXPowerLite needs to use and can't, so it stops processing files and shows an error dialog.
Access denied error and resolution
If the 'NXPowerLite File Server' Windows Service detects that it cannot access either the configuration files or the registry settings, then it will display a warning. This is normally due to the fact that the account that the service uses has been changed (sometimes to enable optimization of content on network folders) but it cannot access the settings folders on the machine on which the software is installed.
Resolution
- Review Application Event Log messages and errors for more detailed information about the specific issue.
- Configure/re-configure the Service
Please ensure that the service for the account is configured with full(Read/Write/Update/Delete) permissions to both:
- All the folders selected for optimization
- The configuration files stored in a sub-folder of the "All Users profile" as follows:
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Neuxpower\NXPowerLite for File Servers v10
