Bug Fixes
- Updated PDF compression library to fix a bug with subsetting PDF fonts. The scope of this is unclear but it seemed to affect only a small subset of PDF files that contained fonts that were already subsetted.
- Fixed a bug on the NXPowerLite results screen where the Exit option was missing in the File menu. This only occurred when using NXPowerLite in the Office Add-ins.

Bug Fixes
- Fixed an issue where some images could become corrupt and render them to be not visible in Office when using the ‘Reduce color depth of PNG images’ feature. It only affected some true color (i.e. usually 24-bit color) PNG images with simple transparency.

Bug Fix
- Fixed an issue with the expiry of the 14-day evaluation when upgrading NXPowerLite Desktop. The evaluation period was not reset if a previous installation of v8 had an expired evaluation period and an upgrade to v9 was installed. This meant there was no free trial available in that specific situation.
- 14-day trials were available as normal when upgrading from other older versions of NXPowerLite Desktop or when installing without a previous installation.

File processing engine improvements
- Added a new JPEG library to process JPEG's more quickly
- PDF improvement: Added support for ASCII encoded PDFs. These PDFs usually have images with double filters, one of which being ASCII. The desktop software has this setting enabled by default but it can be disabled by contacting Neuxpower.
- PDF improvement: Added the ability to strip out some types of PDF marked content.
- PDF improvement: Added the ability to subset fonts. The default setting for all optimise profiles is 'Enabled'
- PDF Improvement: Allow images with inverted default decode arrays (IDDAs) to be optimised, but only if the original image's colour space is non-indexed CMYK. (IDDAs are something that Photoshop often uses for CMYK JPEG images)

Known issues
- Embedded documents are not flattened in DOC files that are the main document for a mail merge operation
- Flattened embedded documents in optimized DOC files become invisible if the file is subsequently used as the main document for a mail merge operation
PPTX files containing certain kinds of embedded objects cannot be optimized due to a known bug in PowerPoint 2010. We are working on a workaround for this bug, which will be included in late 2010 - Microsoft Outlook: Inline JPEG images in HTML email messages are not optimized
