When you first install NXPowerLite Desktop on macOS you may notice that when you right-click a supported file, the NXPowerLite options do not appear in the Finder context menu. This could be due files being stored in iCloud Drive, a faulty installation, or an issue with Finder.
macOS Sequoia Users
We are aware that NXPowerLite's Finder Extensions do not currently work. Please read Enable NXPowerLite Desktop Finder Extensions on macOS Sequoia for the current workaround.
Files stored in iCloud Drive
Apple has limited to 1 number of Finder Extensions allowed to be triggered when right-clicking a file that is synced with iCloud using iCloud Drive. This means that NXPowerLite Finder options will not work for files stored in iCloud Synced folders and only the default iCloud options are available.
This restriction is not limited to NXPowerLite and you will see other software applications have the same restrictions. We are hopeful that Apple will extend this feature to allow 3rd party Finder extensions for iCloud Synced files.
The suggested workaround for files in iCloud is to drag and drop them onto the main NXPowerLite Desktop app and compress - which works as expected.
Resolve Faulty Installation or issues with Finder
Here are 3 different steps to successfully enable NXPowerLite's Finder options:
1. Ensure NXPowerLite Finder extensions are enabled
2. Relaunch Finder
3. Re-install NXPowerLite Desktop
If you have been successful you will see the options shown in the image below when you right-click a file supported by NXPowerLite.
