The Slide Selection tool makes it easy to select a group of slides based on multiple criteria and then make bulk changes to those slides using PowerPoint.
This tool has an additional sub-menu that allows you to switch the columns between: Transitions and Masters / Layouts. These options determine which criteria are loaded into the table for you to use for filtering and selecting slides.
Read on to learn how to use this tool to make swift edits to slide-level properties using a combination of Slidewise and native PowerPoint UI.
Transitions
The transitions table allows you to view the type, effect, and duration of each slide's transition. You can easily sort and filter the table to find and edit single or multiple slides.
Clicking one or more rows in Slidewise will select those slides in PowerPoint and automatically open the Transitions Tab in the ribbon so that you can make your desired amendments.
For detailed instructions, see View and edit slide transitions in PowerPoint with Slidewise.
Slide Masters / Layouts
When this view is selected you can select slides based on their Master, Layout or visibility. So for example, easily select all the slides using a particular layout and then choose a different one using the PowerPoint menu. Take a look:
As a second example, you could select all of the hidden slides and then right-click to choose Unhide slides.
How to select multiple slides
Click on any row/slide in the table and Slidewise will select it in PowerPoint.
To select multiple slides you can hold down CTRL + click on the slides you want to select.
Alternatively, you can click on the first slide then hold down SHIFT and click on the last slide in a contiguous block of slides to select all the slides between the two points.
Sort or filter to find slides
Click anywhere in the header to sort the table on that column (except on the green filter icon). Click it again to reverse the sort. This makes it easy to bring slides with the same properties together in the list e.g. all slides using a specific layout.
Alternatively, you can click the filter button for access to powerful filtering options that will let you specify precise conditions for just the slides you want to see/edit.
What is the refresh list button for?
After changing properties for slides in PowerPoint, Slidewise is not informed that they have changed. So you need to manually prompt it to refresh its view of your slides after you make changes.
