To ensure a smooth and successful re-installation, it's essential to manually remove these remaining files. This article will guide you through the process of locating and deleting these hidden files, preparing your Mac for a clean installation of NXPowerLite.
How to Perform a Clean Reinstallation of NXPowerLite Desktop
- Uninstall NXP using the script in the Applications folder.
-
Download to your "Downloads" folder the script "DeleteNXPowerLite" from here:
https://cdn.neuxpower.com/customer/desktop-mac/ DeleteNXPowerLite.sh -
In Terminal type:
cd Downloads/(There should now be "Downloads" before the '%' prompt in Terminal to signify that you are in the Downloads folder.)
-
Now, to change the default permissions of the downloaded file so we can run it, type:
chmod +x DeleteNXPowerLite.sh -
Now we can run the script by entering the following command (enter your password if necessary):
sudo ./DeleteNXPowerLite.sh
It will search specific folders for old NXPowerLite files. - Once that is complete, it will ask you if you want to delete these files. Press 'y' to delete the files.
The script will detail the files that it has successfully deleted. It may not be able to delete some files inside /private/var/folders/, which it will report in "Phase 3". This is normal, as these will get deleted when you restart your Mac. - Restart your Mac.
