Some files cannot be processed by NXPowerLite. This may be due to corrupted content or network issues. In order to try and ensure NXPowerLite has the best chance of compressing your file please follow the advice in the steps below:
1. Use the latest version of NXPowerLite Desktop
Please check you are using the latest version of NXPowerLite Desktop. Read Am I using the correct version of NXPowerLite Desktop? for more details.
2. Re-save the file on a local drive
Open the file's editing application and save the file with a different file name onto a local drive (e.g. your desktop), then retry compression with NXPowerLite Desktop. This can remove corruption and help with any network issues.
3. Ensure the file backup or optimized copy folders options are set to a local hard drive
In addition to using a file on a local folder on your computer, ensure that the backup or optimized copy that NXPowerLite creates will be created on a local hard drive. This will ensure there are no access permission or connection issues with a network.
4. Try manually optimizing the file
If you have an Office or PDF file, please read our file-type-specific articles that help you find and compress files with large content that NXPowerLite cannot compress.
- Windows
- macOS
5. Share the file for further investigation
If the previous steps fail to help NXPowerLite compress the file and you think that it should be able to be compressed then, please share the file with us. We will be able to analyze it in more detail and determine the nature of the issue.
