Slidewise is amazing at highlighting all crucial content, including fonts, colors and languages. Expanding the tree reveals every object that has those properties. You can easily navigate to any specific object in PowerPoint by double-clicking, right-clicking, or using the menu buttons on the right-hand side.
Although it shows this level of detail, Slidewise is optimized for making bulk changes. This is great when you want to replace all instances of a specific color or consolidate multiple fonts into one. However, it’s less ideal for granular edits where only some items need to be changed.
While direct support for small alterations isn't available, we'd like to suggest a method that should make fine-grained adjustments easier by using Slidewise together with PowerPoint.
Making smaller changes using Slidewise
For smaller changes, we recommend a hybrid approach using the combination of Slidewise to find and navigate to the content you want to edit - but then using PowerPoint to make the changes. The quick steps look like this:
- Jump to an object from Slidewise
- Make a change to it using the PowerPoint UI
- Refresh Slidewise to track the changes
- Repeat
In the above example, we changed the shape fill color for a number of objects to use a Theme color instead. We simply navigated to the shapes with Slidewise, changed their color using PowerPoint and then hit Refresh in Slidewise to help monitor your progress.
Slidewise attempts to switch to the appropriate Ribbon tab when you navigate to content, for example, from the “Colors” tab, it changes the Ribbon to the “Shape Format” tab, so that the color tools are at your fingertips.
This functionality is found throughout Slidewise, so wherever you want to make changes individually, please remember you can still use Slidewise to jump to objects, keep track of changes and generally make the job easier.
Bulk changes using Slidewise
To make bulk changes, just right-click on any content in the Slidewise pane to access the features available for that content. These include Consolidate Masters, Change Language, Replace Colors and many more,
If you are ever not sure, just try right-clicking on anything that you’d like to edit in Slidewise to see what options are available.
